Alert: Greybull Schools Closure Update from Superintendent Mark Rose COVID-19 Resources and Information HELPLINE

Dear Parents, Students, Staff, and Patrons,

I would like to thank you for your support during these extraordinary times. Although we do not know to what extent and how the COVID-19 Virus will affect us, we do know that it is in our best interest to make every effort to minimize its spread. Based on recommendations from the Governor’s Office, the Wyoming Department of Education, as well as County Health Officials, Big Horn County School District #3 schools are closed until at least April 3rd. Experts agree that this aggressive action is needed to slow the spread of the virus and to allow our healthcare system to keep up with the demands. The Level 3 Alert issued by our County Health Officials states that there should be no gathering of students of any kind. Students need to be aware that they may show no symptoms and yet still carry and spread the virus.

Even in these unprecedented times, we are still committed to providing a quality educational experience for our students. Teachers have been working hard all week to develop and prepare to teach online/hybrid classes to our students. In order to make this work, we will need each of our students' best effort and parents/guardians to help ensure their full participation. We are planning to roll courses out district wide beginning Monday, March 30th, immediately following our spring break.

School lunches and breakfasts are being prepared for those desiring them and are available for pick up or delivery. This is a completely free service and we hope that you will take advantage of it. Please contact any of the school offices to get on the list for delivery.

We understand that during this time, children and family members may have heightened concerns about our world and or exposure to the virus. Here are some helpful resources:

Finally, please remain calm and continue to follow local health agency and CDC recommendations for hand washing and social distancing. Going through this experience will make us better educators, better students, and better people. Together we will beat this!

With Regards,

Supt. Mark Rose
